BLITZING THROUGH

 VIDEO CLIPS

CHCH - I covered local stories around Hamilton, Halton and Niagara.  Below is a collage of just a few of those stories, as well as some other separate projects.

Royal Visit - Ottawa
I travelled to Ottawa to cover the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first trip as a married couple.
Take a look at William and Catherine meeting excited Canadians.

Legal - May 2011
Michael Dixon sued the Hamilton Police Services and three of its officers (one who has since died) for being arrested and imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit.  The suspect description was for a white man, but they arrested Dixon, who is black man.  I followed the entire trial and the outcome.

Politics
Elections, Elections, Elections- It's been a busy 8 months of election coverage and the year isn't even over!  I took an "old school" look at 2 of the national leaders and got a close up look at a day in the life of some local MP candidates, interviewing the winner the night of the election on May 2nd.  I also interviewed the winner of the hotly contested Toronto mayoral race back in October 2010.

Popular Culture
With two billion people watching on, the Royal Wedding was pop culture's biggest story for 2011.  Eight thousand members of the media were able to instantly capture the moment, but I sat down with one local photographer who was at Chuck and Di's wedding and fondly remembers when that wasn't the case.

Entertainment
Jan 2011
- The station sent me to the Sundance Film Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah, to interview the stars and their upcoming films and documentaries.

National Coverage - RUSSELL WILLIAMS SENTENCING
During the week of October 18th I travelled to Belleville, Ont. to cover ex-Col. Russell Williams' sentencing.  I spent my days tweeting from the courtroom and reporting on air in the evenings for one of the biggest national stories of 2010.

FINAL DAY - SENTENCING                                                                             VICTIM IMPACT STATEMENTS

Series - BLITZING THROUGH THE SUMMER
I created a series called Blitzing Through the Summer that I produced, reported, wrote, shot and edited.  It took me to places across the Golden Horseshoe and beyond, where I tried different activities and went to unique places.

Skydiving in Niagara Falls

Ziplinig in Elora

Canoeing down the Grand River

Roller Derbying with the Hammer City Roller Girls

Feature Story

One humble man's journey from Hungary, to the Holocaust, to Hamilton.
April 11, 2010:  Holocaust Remembrance Day

Internet Piece for NBC's Dateline - Produced, shot, reported, wrote, edited and prepared graphics for the story.

Melvin Fagan used a newspaper's Obituary section to find his unsuspecting victims: widows and widowers.  Pretending to be an employee of a credit card card company, he convinced his prey to hand over their credit card numbers and then went on a shopping spree ... all while he was behind bars.
